Welcome! We used to work at the Naturalist in Davis, CA, but when that store and other beautiful gift shops closed, we wondered where we would find unique, eco-friendly, handmade, and local products. Then we realized we could make our own little downtown online. So we're creating a nature-themed gift shop, an international/Indigenous/fair trade shop, and a cottage-chic boutique. Please enjoy browsing each mini-shop! We're building this up, little by little, and hope to offer a great selection and the best customer care possible. Please bookmark our page and check back often, as many items are one-of-a -kind! We've named our virtual plaza after the Yellow-billed Magpies that are unique to our region and that, after population decimation due to West Nile virus, are making a comeback. We wanted a symbol of local specialties, and we can't help but love these clever guys for getting through tough times.

Oh, the swoops, and streaks and rolling waves! Each of these bowls is a unique creation, not only in the streaks of color but also in its shape, since these are hand shaped one by one (as is every piece of Fire and Light) but with a more free-flowing shape. Fire and Light glassware of Arcata, CA is eco-friendly ( 7 of 9 colors use 90% recycled glass!), locally made and gorgeous. The glass feels substantial, not flimsy, even while sparkling. This is a beautiful accent piece and a lovely gift. This can be special ordered in cobalt or olive, but patterns vary significantly. Contact us for assistance.
